How do I make my application stand out?

Write with a Great Understanding of Your Industry

As you write your cover letter and/or CV/resume, it’s important to add information that shows you know the industry inside and out. Adding keywords and phrases which highlight specific qualifications for a job is a great way to get this done. Be as specific as possible in your job target, branding statement, career summary, professional history, past accomplishments, and what you can contribute.

Know The Company and What It Does 

Your job is to research the specific needs and wants of the employer you are applying for and address those needs to showcase how you will make a difference.

Prioritize Your Qualifications and Quantify Results 

Everyone has job duties; it’s how you approached them and what you accomplished in carrying them out that makes you stand out. If you want your cover letter and/or CV/resume to stand out, it’s important to always list your greatest accomplishments first. Whatever you’ve pulled off in your career that will “wow” hiring managers should be as close to the top of any section of your resume. Take time to quantify your results. Help the reviewers visualize the amazing contributions you’ve made.
